Family Photo Session in Garmisch

What's the best time for a photoshoot with small children? Truthfully, the time you know your little one will be in the best mood. If it aligns with sunrise or sunset and the soft light during those times, amazing, but I've also become really confident at shooting family sessions outside of those times. In the summer month, specifically July and August the sun rises around 6am and sets around 9pm. Unless you have some magic nap tricks up your sleeve, those times can be very challenging for parents of smaller children and let’s face it, teens.

Thankfully in the fall, the sun rises a little later around 8am and makes it easier for families to commit to a sunrise session, which is one of the reasons I just love this season so much. That, and well - just look at the beautiful fall colors!
